You are invited to wear what is comfortable for you. We offer a Contemporary Worship Service in a casual atmosphere at 8:30 a.m. and a Traditional Worship Service at 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary.

Do I need to bring anything?

No. Bibles are provided in the pews, but you are also invited to bring your own Bible. We have children’s worship bulletins and special worship bags with things for children to do that will enhance their worship experience. Coffee and Continental Breakfast are offered before and during our 8:30 a.m. service.

When should I get there?

Sunday services begin at 8:30 a.m. (Contemporary), and 11 a.m. (Traditional). Sunday School is 9:45 a.m. for all ages.

What about my children? Can my children attend with me?

We encourage families to worship together. During the 11 a.m. worship service we offer Kingdom Kids, a time of specialized teaching from the Pastor. Children are invited to sit in the front of the Sanctuary for a fun children’s sermon and prayer.

We have children’s worship bulletins and special worship bags with things for children to do that will enhance their worship experience.

Nursery care for children up to 2 years of age is available every Sunday from 8:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. The nursery is staffed with our loving childcare worker and located on the first floor.

Who is the Pastor?

Rev. Michael Dettmer is our pastor. He is ordained with the United Methodist Church. Pastor Mike would love to get to know you! When you visit please leave your name and phone number on the registration pad, and he will contact you as soon as possible. You are invited and welcome to call the church office to meet with the pastor for conversation or help. We also host Starting Point, an opportunity to learn more about Jesus, Bermuda Hundred United Methodist Church, and How God is calling you!

When is Holy Communion served and who can participate?

Holy Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month in both worship services. The United Methodist Church offers an “open table” which means all who seek Christ are invited to participate. Ushers will assist you in knowing “what to do.” If you are not able to walk forward, let the usher know, and communion will be brought to you in the pew. Communion is served by intinction where you will receive a piece of the bread, dip it into the chalice of juice and return to their seats. You are welcome to kneel at the altar for a time of prayer after partaking for time of prayer then return to your seat. Children are part of the Body of Christ and our congregation and are invited to receive the grape juice and bread (the "elements") at their parent's discretion.

How do I become a member of Bermuda Hundred UMC?

We ask that those interested in joining the church to meet with the pastor and encourage all to participate in Starting Point. You'll have a chance to talk about your specific spiritual journey and where Bermuda Hundred can be a part of your faith journey!
